Provide feedback on Council’s Coordinated Baiting Program, learn about baiting techniques and other control methods, and hear what projects you may be interested in.

Maranoa Council undertakes a twice-yearly coordinated baiting program for wild dogs and feral pigs. This information session will provide important information, as well as provide an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback about the program.

The session will include expert presenters from Biosecurity Queensland and Southern Queensland Landscapes.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Bait Allocation
  • Ordering Process
  • Meat sources and specs
  • Timing of program
  • Ad hoc baiting

Biosecurity Queensland will talk about:

  • Strategic baiting
  • Property management techniques to reduce impact of wild dogs on stock
  • Feral pig management and disease awareness

Southern Queensland Landscapes will be presenting:

  • Pest impacts on important vegetation
  • Collaboration with landholders
  • New focus areas for supported pest plant and animal control

Tea, coffee and lunch will be provided.
