Councillor Meryl Brumpton is a born and bred Roma local with a rich family history as first settlers in the area. Together with her husband Robert, she lives and works on their family beef property St Kilda located north of Roma. They have four children.
Merl has over 30-years' experience working with Queensland Health and has spent the last six years in the medical training field with James Cook University and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. She more recently commenced a part-time consumer liasion role with a renewable energy company and continues to assist in the running of the family beef cattle enterprise.
As a Councillor, Meryl seeks to utilise her extensive study to drive sustainable employment, industry and tourism to ensure the continued viability and liveability of the Maranoa Region.
Away from work and council, Meryl enjoys all aspects of family and farming life, gardening and a range of art and craft activities.
