Annual Kerbside Collection

The Maranoa Regional Council Annual Kerbside Collection, part of the Keep Maranoa Beautiful campaign, is a free service to help residents dispose of large household items, green waste and metal waste.

This initiative aims to keep residents homes and our community cleaner and greener.

This free kerbside collection service takes place in the lead up to Easter each year.

  • Wallumbilla and Roma Area 1 – Monday 24th March
  • Injune and Roma Area 2 – Tuesday 25th March
  • Surat and Roma Area 3 – Wednesday 26th March
  • Mitchell and Roma Area 4 – Thursday 27th March
  • Roma Area 5 – Friday 28th March
  • Yuleba and Roma Area 6 – Monday 31st March
  • Jackson and Roma Area 7 – Tuesday 1st April
  • Mungallala and Roma Area 8 – Wednesday 2nd April

  • To ensure a smooth kerbside collection, it's important to follow the key dates and guidelines.

    Please make sure to place your items out on time and in the right format to help us keep the process efficient and organised.

    Take note of when your area is scheduled for collection, and remember — items should only be placed on the kerb from Friday, 21 March 2025 onwards.

    What You Need to Know

    • Place items out on the footpath by 7pm the day before your collection date.
    • Do not place items out before Friday, 21 March 2025.
    • Separate your items into 3 piles: bulky household items, green waste and metal waste.
    • No collection from under trees, near power poles or within private yards.
    • Items must be liftable by two people.
    • Place glass items separately for safe collection.
    • Piles must not exceed 1m high x 1m wide x 3m long (3m³).
    • This service is available only to residential properties in town areas.
  • To help make the kerbside collection as efficient as possible, it’s important to know which items can and can’t be collected.

    By following these guidelines, you can ensure your items are correctly sorted and ready for collection on your scheduled date.

    Acceptable Items

    • Furniture and white goods
    • Household appliances (e.g., stoves)
    • Wood products
    • Green waste (no longer than 1.5m in length and 3m in total)
    • Scrap metal

    Unacceptable Items

    • Dirt, stones, bricks, concrete
    • Commercial builders' waste
    • General household waste (e.g., food scraps)
    • Cars and car parts
    • Tyres of any type
    • Liquids or hazardous waste (e.g., chemicals, oil, paint, asbestos)
    • Gas bottles and batteries
    • Tree stumps and large logs
