Councillor Peter Flynn

Councillor Peter Flynn is a born and bred Roma local with strong early settler connections to the local region. Peter has owned Maranoa Travel Centre for the past 25-years, and together with his wife Jenny, have strong business and community ties in the Maranoa area. Together they have two adult daughters and now five young grand-daughters.

Peter served 16-years as a long-term Roma Town Council Alderman and has spent eight years as a Maranoa Regional Councillor. With a strong interest in sporting pursuits, Peter has spent over 50-years involved with rugby league and racing and served 39-years as secretary of the Roma District Rugby League club. He is also their current chairman, and joint president of the Roma Turf Club among other notable organisations.

As a Councillor, Peter has a strong focus on youth, sport and recreation, as well as strong commitment to the financial development of the Maranoa Region. He hopes to be able to provide ratepayers and residents with a balanced financial structure.
