Balonne River heights at Surat are expected to rise over coming days
Due to recent rain events east of the Maranoa, there has been a significant rise in river levels within the Condamine-Balonne catchment.
Council will be monitoring the Balonne River at Surat over the coming days with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting to expect a rise in river heights along the Balonne River to Surat later in the weekend.
Council would like to remind the community to remain cautious. Drivers are advised to check for road closures and weather warnings, before setting off. Remember – If it’s flooded, forget it.
