Rural Lands Services
Rural Lands Services is responsible for implementing Council’s Biosecurity and Stock Route Management Plans. This includes managing weeds and pests on Council owned land, roads and reserves, and maintaining the functional connectivity of the stock route network. With an area of 58,830 square kilometres and approximately 13,000 residents
The Local areas of Bendemere, Bungil, Booringa and Warroo each have a dedicated Rural Lands Services Officer. These officers are the first point of contact for rural lands matters such as reporting weeds and stray stock, providing advice to landholders, undertaking on-ground biosecurity work, delivering the coordinated baiting program and ad hoc pest animal control, and stock route facility inspections and maintenance.
The Regional Rural Lands Services team provides support and coordinates projects to assist landholders meet their General Biosecurity Obligations, including the coordinated baiting program, weed eradication projects, applying for grant funding, providing technical advice and facilitating information days.
