Council has resolved to donate 50% of the live weight and open auction selling fees received for each head of cattle sold at the Roma Saleyards Store Sale

Council has resolved to donate 50% of the live weight and open auction selling fees received for each head of cattle sold at the Roma Saleyards Store Sale on Tuesday, 6 July 2021 to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS).

The RFDS provides aeromedical retrieval services, along with primary and preventative healthcare services, to regional, rural and remote Queenslanders.

Mayor Tyson Golder recognises this service is vital for our region’s residents, workers and visitors to receive aeromedical and primary health care services.

"This Charity Sale Day event is a brilliant example of how Council assists not-for-profit organisations,” Cr Golder said.

“On behalf of Council, I thank everyone who contributes to this worthy cause and I encourage our community to consider donating to RFDS.”

RFDS (Queensland Section) Chief Executive Officer Meredith Staib thanked Maranoa Regional Council for their support of the Flying Doctor.

“This fundraising effort will help ensure we can continue to provide vital healthcare services to patients across the region,” she said.

“I’d like to thank Council for their generosity, which will keep the Flying Doctor in the air and assisting the communities which need us the most.”
