STREET LIGHTING WORKS TO BE UNDERTAKEN IN THE ROMA CBD

Council would like to advise residents and businesses in the Roma CBD that Ergon Energy will be undertaking street lighting installation works at the intersection of McDowall and Wyndham Street

Work will commence this week.  A majority of the works have been planned as night works to help reduce the impact as much as possible.

Work will commence this evening, Wednesday, 17 August 2022, starting a 6pm and expected to take approximately 2-3 hours.  Works will continue Thursday morning to install the new light pole on the north eastern corner of the intersection. Traffic control will be in place to control the flow of traffic through the intersection with the works scheduled to be completed by approximately 10am.

The final, and major, stage of the works will commence on Monday, 22 August - around 6pm.  During this time, the entire intersection will be closed to all traffic. The closure is required to ensure the safety of works and plant that will be onsite for the installation works. These works are scheduled to be completed early Tuesday morning (23 August).

Council would like to thank residents in advance and ask for their cooperation and adhere to the traffic control and signage to help deliver these important safety upgrade works.
