Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) and Maranoa Regional Council are happy to announce additional funding has been approved for local projects based in Wallumbilla, Yuleba and Roma.

Dave Atkin, General Manager, said Origin as Upstream Operator for APLNG is committed to an active presence in the Maranoa. “We are keen for the APLNG contribution, which is part of our worker transition agreement with Council, to be invested as soon as possible so that we can all enjoy the liveability benefits. It’s a real win-win,” he said.

The additional funding allocated will assist in detailed design for the Roma pool renewal, progress the Calico Cottage project as part of the Wallumbilla Heritage Precinct revival, and contribute to the Yuleba Masterplan.

“Our communities are very keen to see these projects come to fruition” Mayor Golder said.

“It is a very tough economic climate and we have been working with the community and Origin/APLNG to identify key priority projects which, with a bit more assistance, can be delivered over the coming year,” said Mayor Golder.

Council will continue to keep the Maranoa community updated about these projects as they get underway.
