Council Christmas and New Year closure dates 2022/23

Maranoa Regional Council Customer Service Centres, Administration Offices, Libraries and other non-essential services will be closed from close-of-business Friday, 23 December 2022.

Normal Council functions will resume on Tuesday, 3 January 2023.

The Roma Waste Facility will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Skip bins will be placed outside the facility for public use.

Yuleba Administration Office/Post Office will close on the gazetted public holidays only. All other business days will operate as usual.

Normal opening times for Roma, Surat, Injune and Mitchell libraries will resume the week commencing Tuesday, 3 January 2023. Normal opening times for Wallumbilla, Mungallala and Jackson libraries will resume the week commencing Monday, 9 January 2023.

Field based teams of Roma, Bungil, Bendemere, Warroo and Booringa will shut down from Friday, 23 December 2022 with services to resume on Tuesday, 3 January 2023. Roma Quarry will shut down Friday, 23 December 2022 at 12pm and reopen Monday, 9 January 2023. 

Council will have skeleton crews operating throughout the Christmas/New Year period to respond to emergency callouts only.

The Roma Visitor Information Centre, Injune Visitor Information Centre and The Big Rig will be closed from Saturday, 24 December 2022 to Tuesday, 27 December 2022 and from Saturday, 31 December 2022 to Monday, 2 January 2023. These facilities will be opened between 9am and 2pm from Wednesday, 28 December 2022 to Friday, 30 December 2022 (excluding the previously mentioned public holidays).

The last Big Rig Night Show Sunset Experience for 2022 will be held on Wednesday, 21 December 2022 at 6:30pm, and the first show for 2023 will be held on Wednesday, 4 January 2023.
