SURAT BRIDGE NOW CLOSED DUE TO BALONNE RIVER RISING

Council wishes to advise Surat and Warroo residents that the Surat Landfill is currently closed.

The Surat Landfill caught fire yesterday evening and Council and QFES staff attended to bring the fire under control.

As of this morning, the fire has not been completely extinguished and Council Officers are working to make the area safe again for residents to re-enter.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and expects to re-open the landfill in the next 48 hours.
