Bitumen reseal program set to commence around the Maranoa region

Back
Kerb and channel works

Council would like to advise residents that major bitumen resealing works across the Maranoa will commence from 15 February 2023.

The program will see sections of sealed (bitumen) roads receive a new coat of bitumen on selected rural and urban roads.

Bitumen resealing is a critical step in maintaining Council’s current bitumen road network. It reduces the maintenance costs of these roads and extends their overall life.

Work will be planned to keep disruptions on roads to a minimum during this period, however residents can expect short delays when sections of road are reduced to one lane or temporarily closed (where required). Works will generally take place Monday – Saturday unless work on Sunday would reduce the impact to the community and businesses.

Traffic management will be in place for the safety of both workers and road users. Council asks that you please follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs during this period.

Letterbox drops will be completed in urban areas in advance to advise those residents where and when bitumen resealing works will occur.

Council appreciates your patience while the works are underway.
