MARANOA REGIONAL COUNCIL ASK FOR COMMUNITY INPUT TO PLAN AHEAD
Council is inviting the community to have their say as part of the Shaping Our Future Consultation Program which kicks off this week.
Maranoa Regional Council is inviting the community to participate in the Shaping Our Future Consultation Program, which begins today. Council is requesting the input of residents to help position Maranoa for emerging opportunities and invites the community to express their views on the future of the region, either online or in-person.
Maranoa Regional Council Mayor Tyson Golder said while the Maranoa region is well known for its lifestyle and prosperity, it’s time to plan for the next five years.
“The Maranoa is a great place to live and work. To expand on our success, we need to plan for our future now. There are opportunities and challenges ahead and we need to be ready for them.
“We want to hear from everyone across every community. We want to hear your ideas and concerns to make sure the Maranoa region thrives into the future.”
The Shaping Our Future Consultation will gather feedback on what residents see as a priority for the next five years both locally and regionally. This will feed into Council’s next five-year Corporate Plan, which sets the vision and guides all of Council’s operations across the region.
Running from 27 March to 8 May 2023, residents can register their feedback through the Have Your Say section on Maranoa Regional Council's website Shaping Our Future Survey | Have Your Say (maranoa.qld.gov.au) or via a face-to-face consultation with Local Area Directors and Councillors in their local areas. Residents can call 1300 007 662 or email customer.roma@maranoa.qld.gov.au for more information.
“Community input is key to making sure our long-term plan is right. This will help us navigate the challenges ahead especially in relation to technology and energy and the way we do things. We need to consider these changes and be ready to take full advantage of them.
“This is an exciting time and I ask everyone to take part. This is your chance to have your say,” Mayor Golder said.
