Taking place throughout April, Queensland Youth Week is an annual celebration of the positive contribution that young people make to Queensland communities.

Council is also pleased to welcome Cooper Chapman from the Good Human Factory to deliver several workshops in local high schools across the region to address issues facing the region’s youth. From all around the world, Cooper has been inspiring people to improve their wellbeing. These workshops will address self-worth, well-being and living with values amongst other important youth-related issues.
QPAC will be presenting a five-day music-making workshop called CreativeFusions. Led by internationally renowned guitarist Dr Anthony Garcia and five highly skilled professional musicians, the hands-on workshop will give participants educational materials, scores and ongoing support in preparation for their performance, which is part of a free community event. The workshop is designed to encourage musicians to learn, share, improvise and perform together.

These workshops will feature a dynamic collection of stories and voices that will entertain and inspire both kids and parents alike.
Maranoa Regional Council Mayor Tyson Golder said, “The 2023 Youth Week program provides exciting activities for our young community and the workshops give young people the opportunity to hear some important messages to help them in everyday life.”
