Maranoa Regional Council has announced its Annual Winter Blanket and Winter Wear Drive which aims to provide additional support to community members in need during the cooler months.

Community members are encouraged to donate any new or preloved blankets and winter wear including coats, hats, and scarves to help those in need. The Council is also accepting donations for pets including winter coats and bedding.

Mayor Tyson Golder shared his passion for the drive, saying that projects such as these really highlight the Maranoa region community spirit.

“The Annual Winter Blanket and Winter Wear Drive is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together and support those in need. This year, we are extending our support to pets as well. I encourage everyone to donate any new or pre-love blankets and winter wear to help those in need during the upcoming colder months.”

Donations will be accepted between Tuesday, 11 April and Friday, 21 April 2023 at the following Customer Service Centres: Injune, Mitchell, Roma, Surat and Yuleba. To donate, residents are being asked to leave their items in the marked buckets at each drop-off location. Council is requesting that pre-loved items are washed before donating.

Please visit Council’s website for donation drop-off address locations. For further information about the drive, please contact Maranoa Regional Council on 1300 007 662.
