Maranoa Regional Council congratulates the 2023 ‘Sculptures Out Back’ winners
Maranoa Regional Council has congratulated the four Sculptures Out Back 2023 winners after the exhibition opened to acclaim on Saturday, 17 June 2023.
Several high-quality sculptures were submitted for the 2023 exhibition, with judges selecting the following winning entries across five categories:
• Rod Buckland, “The Fossicker” - Australia Pacific LNG and Origin Energy Acquisitive Open Prize ($20,000)
• Kyle Mansfield, “Real Steel” - Maranoa Regional Council Acquisitive Local Prize ($10,000)
• Michael & Kylee Tindale-Smith, “Armadilla Waratah” - Hall Chadwick Emerging Artist Prize ($5,000)
• Danny & Donna Sutton, “In Another Life Garden Seat” - Roma Wire & Steel Acquisitive Garden Seat Prize ($2,000)
• Kyle Mansfield, “Real Steal” - Roma on Bungil Gallery People's Choice Prize ($2,000)
Mayor Tyson Golder said the quality of work from all entrants was astounding, and showcasing this artwork is of huge benefit to the region.
“I’d like to congratulate all entrants in this year’s exhibition. The Maranoa region is home to extremely talented artists, and seeing so many locals and visitors travelling to see their work is testament to their skill and ability,” said Cr Golder.
The Sculptures Out Back 2023 pieces are available for viewing until Saturday,16 September and are located at Sculpture Park, Warrego Highway (eastern side), Roma.
