Community information session - Preview Mitchell Memorial Park Upgrade

Maranoa Regional Council would like to invite the Mitchell community to a community information session on Thursday, 7 October 2021

Council staff will provide information about the upgrades to be installed at Mitchell Memorial Park.

Information boards and graphic displays highlighting the new features will be on show at the park for community members to see how the park will look after the upgrades are complete.

The session will be at Mitchell Memorial Park on Thursday, 7 October 2021 from 2pm to 4pm. Community members are able to drop in any time between these hours.

The upgrades have been designed in line with the masterplan, drafted from community consultation, with major items highlighted in the masterplan to be installed in the park as part of the upgrade.

The upgrade includes an iconic playground with climbing net and interlinking sky towers, with a separate toddler’s playground, as well as two BBQ areas with one of these suitable for larger family gatherings. A shade structure will be provided to the skate park and footpaths will be upgraded and extended around the western part of the park incorporating a scooter track.

Once upgrade works commence, the existing playground equipment will be relocated to the Mitchell Weir with the existing shade structures designed to be incorporated into the new playground at the Mitchell Memorial Park site.

Council would like to invite the community to come and have a preview of the planned upgrades which will commence before the end of the year and planned to be completed by the end of March 2022.
