Jingle all the way - Christmas is coming to the Maranoa! Council is set to host a regional Christmas Street Party on McDowall Street, Roma on Thursday, 2 December 2021.

The event will commence from 5pm - 8.30pm and will consist of shopping, food, fun and festive entertainment including the official lighting of the Christmas Tree lights, and most importantly Santa!

As part of the Maranoa Christmas Street Party, McDowall Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3.30pm until 10pm on Thursday, 2 December 2021. The main street will be closed from the traffic lights to Charles Street.

In the lead up to this year’s Maranoa Christmas Street Party, Council will be approaching local business owners and organisations across the region to be involved in the event.

For any food vendors, market stallholders or community members or groups wishing to get involved at the event, please contact your Local Development Officer. The more the merrier!

In the coming weeks, Council will also be coordinating a ‘Think Local First This Christmas’ shopping campaign where lucky shoppers will have the opportunity to win some great prizes!

Keep an eye out for more details coming soon and remember to shop local this Christmas season.
