Steer prices sky-rocket at Roma Store Sale

Roma Saleyards Store Sale held yesterday, 26 October 2021, recorded a new top price for steers at the facility, with prices reaching 810c/kg.

The record was broken at the start of the sale with EU accredited steers selling for 794c/kg, reaching a top of $2,198 to average $1,553 per head. A few hours later the record was broken again with steers reaching 810c/kg, reaching a top of $1,454 to average $1,454 per head.

Mayor Tyson Golder said to see record prices week after week at the Roma Saleyards is a huge achievement for our facility, vendors, buyers and agents. It is evident that Roma Saleyards is the biggest in beef.

“It’s incredible to see the record broken not once but twice within one sale day,” Cr Golder said.

“It is a testament to Australia’s largest cattle selling centre - Roma Saleyards.”
