Christmas has arrived in the Maranoa
Bells were ringing, dancers prancing and children cheering as Christmas came early to the Maranoa on Thursday, 2 December 2021.
With over 2000 residents making their way down to McDowall Street, Roma, entertainment rocked around the Christmas tree with acrobatic elves, stilt walkers, and local talent groups kicking up their heels.
The night was a huge success as residents supported local business including stores, market stalls and food vendors with $2500 also raised for worthwhile charities.
Winners of the “Think Local First” this Christmas shopping competition were announced with four amazing prizes drawn thanks to Sunshine Mitre 10, Roma Betta Home Living, Roma Home Timber & Hardware and Roma Commerce and Tourism.
It was the perfect way to jumpstart the festive season as Maranoa Music charmed the crowd with carols; Tradies contended for the prestigious Battle of the Build; Emergency Services overfilled their stomachs in the Charity Eating Competition; the town Christmas tree lit up and Santa arrived in style.
Council would like to thank everyone who attended the event and all the people who helped make the night a wonderful success!
The Maranoa Christmas Party was proudly supported by Origin, CommTel, Senex, Meals on Wheels Roma, Ezyquip Hire Roma, Upstream Production Solutions, Taylor’s Mechanical Services, Vanderfield, Brown and Hurley, Pete’s Place and Knights Smash Repairs.
