Council monitoring Balonne River at Surat
Maranoa Regional Council will continue to monitor the Balonne River at Surat over the coming days.
At this stage, the Bureau of Meteorology has predicted that the water levels will peak between 11.8m and 12.1m (manual gauge recording) on Sunday, 12 December 2021. The water level forecast will change as further upstream peaks are recorded.
For comparison, the flood peak height in 2010 was 12.4m and 12.75m in 2011.
