TEMPORARY RAW WATER INTERRUPTION – SURAT

Council wishes to advise residents in the township of Surat that raw water services have been temporarily disconnected while the main raw water intake line to the Balonne River is being replaced.

At this stage, raw water will not be available for the next few days while the line is being installed and commissioned. This will not impact the town's drinking water.

Council anticipates raw water services to be back up and running by Friday, 23 June 2023, however residents will be notified if works are expected to extend.

This is part of a 2022/23 capital works project at the Surat Water Treatment Plant to replace the raw and potable water intake lines to the Balonne River.

Council would like to thank all residents for their patience and understanding while works are underway.
