Due to the forecast heavy rain, the Mitchell Waste Facility will be closed today, Wednesday 26 March 2025.
The Maranoa Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) is closely monitoring the developing weather system impacting western and inland Queensland.
Council will conduct essential road safety line marking across all Maranoa towns beginning Monday, 31 March.

Water has been shut off the water in Russell St, Roma whilst emergency repairs are being completed.
Urgent work will be undertaken at the Roma Water Tower to replace a power board, this will result in the loss of power supply to the tower.
Maranoa Regional Council is seeking expression of interests from cattle and / or horse owners to graze on part of the Werakai Road, Roma section behind the Roma Speedway.
Water has been shut off on May Street between Prince Street and Quintin Street whilst emergency repairs are being completed.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred has continued to weaken as it moves inland, with no significant changes to the rainfall forecast for the Maranoa region.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred has weakened to a tropical low and is gradually moving inland. ouncil will be monitoring conditions closely over the next 24–48 hours for any major changes.
Forecasts for wind and rainfall in the Maranoa region remain largely unchanged from yesterday.
While the cyclone is not expected to have a direct impact on the Maranoa region, residents should expect for increased winds and a higher chance of rain over the coming days.
The boiled water alert has been lifted in Injune.
While there is no immediate threat to our region. Maranoa Regional Council continues to monitor Tropical Cyclone Alfred and will update residents daily at 3pm unless the situation changes.
