Maranoa Regional Council wishes to advise residents in the town of Injune that Queensland Fire and Emergency Services will be conducting planned burns in the area starting Tuesday, 26 September.

These controlled burns will continue for approximately two weeks.

These fire mitigation measures will allow excess fuel loads to be burnt off in preparation for the summer months later this year.

It is recommended that windows and doors are kept closed during this time and those who may suffer from a respiratory condition should keep their medication close by.

Council would like to thank residents in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
