New footpath SET to improve pedestrian SAFETY on WYNDHAM ST ROMA
Residents are likely to see an increase in activity on Wyndham Street (Roma) as Council starts work this week on upgrading a section of footpath from Sunshine Hardware to Bungil Street.
Scheduled to commence on Wednesday, 4 October 2023, the new concrete footpath will remove the current trip hazards and provide residents with a safer route to and from the CBD.
The project will deliver a new concrete footpath, extending from the existing footpath on Wyndham Street, as well as improved all abilities access ramps at the Bungil Street end of the site. Works are anticipated to take approximately six weeks to complete (weather permitting).
Temporary signage and barricading will be in place and pedestrian access to the section of footpath will be restricted while works are underway.
Affected residents have been notified in advance of these works, with several car parks in front of the work site will be temporarily closed during the project. Works are scheduled to be completed in sections to minimise these closures.
Council thanks residents for their patience during the delivery of these important upgrade works.
