Road Works in South West District
The Department of Transport and Main Roads will be starting reseal works on various sections of roads in the South West from 1 December 2023, weather and conditions permitting.
Reseals are part of our ongoing maintenance program for the South West District and are an important part of our overall maintenance program. Resealing our roads preserves the surface and improves the reliability of the road network.
Various sections of the following roads are scheduled for resealing:
- Landsborough Highway (Morven - Augathella), between 47.8km to 64.77km
- Landsborough Highway (Augathella - Tambo), between 54km to 57km
- Mitchell Highway (Cunnamulla - Charleville), between 93km to 116.85km
- Bulloo Developmental Road (Cunnamulla - Thargomindah), between 125km to 127.85km and 160km to 187.5km
- Bulloo Developmental Road (Thargomindah - Bundeena), between 149km to 163.67km
- Diamantina Developmental Road (Charleville - Quilpie), between 2.39km to 17.33km, 91.24km to 97.26km and 181.6km to 191.64km
- Diamantina Developmental Road (Quilpie - Windorah), between 21.6km to 28.88km and 137km to 174.96km
- Cooper Developmental Road (Quilpie - Bundeena), between 176.44km to 185.7km
- Quilpie - Thargomindah Road, between 58km to 86km and 129.47km to 174.34km
Works will be undertaken between 6am and 6pm over a 6-day week and are expected to be completed in late December 2023, weather and conditions permitting.
We will try to minimise traffic delays as much as possible by using single lane closures, speed restrictions and traffic control. Motorists should slow down, drive carefully, and follow the instructions of traffic controllers and construction signage and allow up to an additional 15 minutes for their journey.
Works may restrict wide-load vehicle access and permit holders should check the TMR Conditions of Operation Database before travelling. For the latest traffic and travel information visit www.QLDTraffic.qld.gov.au or call 13 19 40.
