Works Set to Commence on Improvements to Campbell Park

Residents and visitors to the region are likely to see an increase in activity at Campbell Park as Council and local contractors DMAC and Westwet Plumbing begin to deliver improvements to the park.

The site, which is located on state land but falls under the management of Council, will be improved to provide another greenspace option for residents and travellers to enjoy.

The first stage of the works, which is due to commence in the coming days, will include the installation of an automatic irrigation system and new turf within the enclosed oval area. Works will also include the installation of a new BBQ, picnic shelter and toilet on the eastern end of the park that overlooks Lake Neverfill and Roma. New bollards will be installed to protect the full perimeter separating the road from the turfed area.

Several stages have been developed under a master plan to help maximise the potential use of the Campbell Park site. Funding has been secured for the first stage of improvements under the Federal Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Fund.

Given the nature of the works, use of the park is likely to be temporarily unavailable whilst the construction work is underway. Council would like to thank residents for their patience in advance while we deliver these site improvements for the community.
