Surat Pontoon

The Surat Pontoon on the Balonne River will be closed from Monday 13 May to allow upgrades to be undertaken at the site.

These works will improve the long-term flood immunity of the pontoon piles during a major flood event. Extending the piles will lessen the frequency in which the pontoon detaching from the moorings in the future. These works will take up to three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
