Temporary Road Closures - QLD Rail Works

Maranoa Regional Council wishes to advise residents that Queensland Rail will be undertaking rail track reconditioning works at level crossings (road crossings).

There will be temporary road closures in place at the following locations:

• Roma Downs Road, Roma
• Silo Road, Wallumbilla
• Un-named access road between the Warrego Highway and Blue Hills Road, opposite ‘Pasadena’ property entry, Pickanjinnie.
• Un-named access road between the Warrego Highway and Blue Hills Road, 250m west of Warooby Lane, Roma.

Works will also be undertaken on the Warrego Highway (Quintin Street), Roma level crossing. A detour will be available via Chrystal and Tiffin Streets.

Queensland Rail has erected signs at each of these five locations to advise of the upcoming closures. Road closures are scheduled between Wednesday 22 May 2024 and Sunday 26 May 2024.

Roma Downs Road is scheduled to be completed on the weekend and should have no impact on the school bus route on this road.  During the temporary closure, the alternative route is via the Carnarvon Highway onto the Warrego Highway.

Queensland Rail has scheduled all closures to occur between the hours of 6am and 6pm.
