Construction works set to commence for a new Roma carpark
Construction set to begin on the corner of McDowall and Quintin Streets with a new carpark development from Monday, 8 July.
The site will serve the western side of the CBD, surrounding businesses and facilities to allow for more parking areas and ensure shopfronts are more accessible.
The first stage of the works will include the construction of a concrete surface carpark, which will include 25 ordinary carparks, four long carparks and disabled parking.
The new carpark will have an entrance from McDowall Street and exit onto Quintin Street and will be illuminated at night.
Future phases will include carports and electric vehicle charging stations.
Given the nature of the works, increased construction traffic, noise, dust, and vibration is expected while the construction work is underway.
Council would like to thank residents for their patience in the construction of this new facility to serve the future of the community, tourists, and visitors to Roma.
This project is made possible through Council’s Capital Projects budget funding and expected to be completed by the end of October 2024.
