Hazard Reduction Burns Injune

Maranoa Regional Council advises Injune residents that the Queensland Fire and Rescue will be completing a hazard reduction burn on the reserve behind the state school starting 29 August.

The fire mitigation measure will allow an excess fuel load to be burnt off in preparation for the upcoming summer months.

It is recommended that windows and doors are kept closed during this time and those who may suffer from a respiratory condition should keep their medication close by.

Smoke can decrease visibility on the roads with motorists urged to drive with caution and to conditions.

Maranoa Regional Council will continue to monitor the site post burn with residual smoke expected in the days after.

Council would like to thank residents in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any inconveniences this may cause.
