Works planned for the Wallumbilla South Road and Warrego Highway

The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises that works are currently being planned around the upgrade to the Warrego Highway (Miles – Roma) and Wallumbilla South Road intersection.

This intersection upgrade is part of the Queensland Government's Transport and Roads Investment Program 2024-25 to 2027-28, that includes works on widening the Warrego Highway (Miles to Roma) traffic lanes. 

The intersection works will include: 
• Widening the traffic lanes on the Warrego Highway to 3.5m
• Constructing a new right turn lane into Wallumbilla South Road.
• Constructing a new right turn land into Chadford Street, Wallumbilla. 
• Safety improvements to the George Street service road, Wallumbilla. 

Temporary access will come into place for George Street, Wallumbilla when the works commence.  

Construction timeframes will be provided to the community once confirmed.
