Council Christmas and New Years Closure 2024 - 2025

Maranoa Regional Council Customer Service Centres, Administration Offices, Libraries and other non-essential services will be closed from close-of-business Friday, 20 December 2024.

Council has approved the Annual Christmas and New Year closure for the general workforce from close of business Friday 20 December 2024 and reopening on Monday 6 January 2025.

The Yuleba Post Office will be closed on the gazetted Public Holidays only, with all other businesses to operate as usual. Australia Post has approved reduced operating hours 9am-1pm from close of business Friday 20 December 2024 to Monday 6 January 2025.

Council has approved the closures of the following Council libraries in Jackson, Wallumbilla and Mungallala from close of business Friday, 20 December 2024 and reopening Monday, 13 January.

Annual Christmas and New Years close for field based operational teams of Roma, Bungil, Bendemere, Waroo and Booringa; the Project Management Office; and Roma Quarry from COB Friday 20 December 2024 to Monday 6 January 2025.

Roma waste facility will be closed to the public on Christmas Day, 25 December 2024 and New Year’s Day, 1 January 2025. Two large skip bins will be provided outside the facility for public use for the days of closure.

Roma Visitor Information Centre and the Big Rig will be closed on Wednesday, 25 December 2024; Thursday, 26 December 2024; and Wednesday, 1 January 2025. The Roma Visitor Information Centre and The Big Rig operating hours will be 9am-1pm from Saturday, 21 December 2024, to Tuesday, 31 December 2024 and resume regular 8:30am-5pm trading hours from Thursday, 2 January 2025. 

The Injune Visitor Information Centre will be closed from Wednesday, 25 December 2024 to Wednesday, 1 January 2025. Council approved for the centre to be open on nominated clsoure dates with the volunteer staff pending the coordination and confirmation of their availability. 

The final Big Rig Night Show Sunset Experience for 2024 will be held on Friday, 20 December 2024 and restart the first Night Show Sunset Experience on Friday, 3 January 2024 at 6:30pm. Fees and charges for public entry to the Big Rig will be changed to $5 flat rate for all visitors from Friday, 27 December 2024 to Tuesday, 31 December 2024.
