Maranoa Regional Council is seeking expression of interests from cattle and / or horse owners to graze on part of the Werakai Road, Roma section behind the Roma Speedway.

This is an alternative to slashing the area in preparation for Roma's Easter in the Country. 

Description of Land

Description: Section of Werakai Road, Roma - shown as the shaded pink on the map.

Area: Approximately 15 acres. 

Infrastructure Condition: 

  • Fencing: Partly fenced.
  • Water: Not avaliable.
  • Loading Facilities: Not avaliable.

Permit Conditions

Permit Days: 14 days. 

Type of Stock: Cattle or Horses.

Number of Stock: Negotiable. 

Other Conditions: Permit dates flexible but must commence 14 day period no later than 28th March 2025.

Fees

Application Fee: $150 (must be paid for an application to be considered)

Permit Fee: $3 per head per week, including GST)

Renewal Application Fee: N/A

Selection Criteria

Eligibility: Applicants must be landowners within the Maranoa Regional Council area. 

Preferences: 

  • Type of stock: Horses or cattle 
  • Other: Preference will be given to adjacent property owner as there are no water or loading facilities in the vicinity.
